III. about
Shailee Vajracharya is a self-taught artist and poet. Painting and writing simultaneously, she draws inspiration from everyday life and her co-existing cycle of tranquility and chaos. Brushes, markers, pigments, and papers are scattered around her, with her seated in the middle, her gaze fixed on the space ahead, and her mind racing with ideas—this is how she begins her work. Her creative process is both reflective and meditative, often delving into the depths of her subconscious. She enjoys experimenting with different mediums and exploring new ways of expressing herself. Her works, which serve as a journal for her, give people an insight into her inner emotions and state of mind.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

My work stems from a persistent quest for self-expression and is a balance between discipline, focus, and creative freedom, depicting internal landscapes and everyday life in a soulful portrayal. Inspiration occurs to me in many forms, ranging from the mundane to the poetic. Through my work, I seek to convey the subtle, transient, and overlooked facets of life.
My creative process is an intriguing cycle of giving and receiving. It's a journey from abstract notions to a complete series—a sacred ritual of bonding with the materials and working hand in hand with them. My work serves as a form of journaling, a way of anchoring myself, and a way to simply be.
